I quite agree with the Senator from Idaho as to the more liberal land laws of Canada. and I agree with the Senator that that is beyond a doubt one reason for many of the farmers in our agricultural States going to Canada. That is beyond doubt true. but I think that a great many of them are being disappointed in Canada. The fact that 54.000 Americans last year who had gone into Canada. and largely of that class have returned. would indicate that they did not find Canada is tbe El Dorado that had been pictured to them.
