Certain gentlemen from New York were very much in favor of it. and gentlemen from other States along the Atlantic seaboard were in favor of it. because the insane asylumns in cities along the Atlantic seaboard are being filled with alien insane. and. as I said before. while they are deportable. there is no penalty on the steamship companies under existing law for bringing them in.
