They were Caucasians. they were good citizens. they contributed to the development and the betterment of our civilization. Now. we have got less than 100.000.000 of people in the United States. When we are as thickly settled as Europe is. we will have from 400.000.000 to 500.000.000. Thus far we have just scratched the surface of this country. There come to this country about a million immigrants a year. those who are permitted to come. I have voted for Chinese exclusion because. with the habits of the Chinese and the manner of their living. we can not sustain our civilization and compete with them.
