Now. there is another thing that I want to call attention to The gentlemans bill would admit those coming in from Canada. the Bermudas. Cuba. and Mexicothat is. he excepts those who are citizens of those countries. I supposethe gentleman did not take the time to examine into the fact that there are 18.000 or 19.000 Mexicans coming in every year. many -of them being of the most vicious class of immigrants and over 40 per cent of them unable to read and write. Yet the gentleman would keep out those coming from Germany. and England. and Ireland. Scotland. and Scandinaviaany person -coming from therealthough there would be but few of them. and let in the Mexican.
