You will notice that these particular crimes are done by fellows who cant talk the English language. It is this vave of immigration that brings to New York the hundreds of thousands of criminals who dont know what liberty means. and dont care. dont know our customs. can not speak the English language. and are in general the scum of Europe. The solution of tile problem is to prohibit immigration. For when we come to executing present immigration laws It is found to be practically impossible to deport. But the present immigrants now coming over do not coine for that purpose and will not do that sort of work. No . they prefer to become pushcart peddlers and to live in our cities in poverty. breeding crime and disease. They occupy our streets. the streets for which our* taxpayers have paid. heavily.
