Mr. Speaker. I stated my position a few days ago in regard to this appropriation for work of the Immigration Commission. I believed then and have believed for a year and more that the work of this commission ought to have been concluded by the beginning of this session. I still think. Mr. Speaker. that too much time has been taken by the commission. I believe If in our Investigations we had gone into typical neighborhoods. if we had taken types of character and types of conditions. instead of extensive individual investigations. that there would not have been so much matter accumulated and not so much delay created. but It would still have been sufficient for the purposes of the commission.
