Mr. Speaker. I believe that I am as free from racial prejudice of any kind as any man can possibly be. Did I understand the gentleman from New York to say that the new immigration coining to this country is assimilating with the population of the country to the same extent and in the same way that the Irish immigration of years ago and the English and Scotch and German immigration did? If he does not mean to say that. then I desire to say that the gentleman from New York is very seriously mistaken about a very serious proposition.
