Patterson. a partner In the said firm. and a citizen of the United States. for his share of threesixteenths in the said firm. leaving $8.567.17 to be paid to the said firm. together with Interest at the same rate and from the same date as heretofore allowed and paid by the Department of State on the other awards or allowances of the said commissioners. such payment to be made by the said firm out of the sum of $2.000.000 reserved in and by the joint resolution providing for the remission of a portion of the Chinese indemnity. approved May 25. 1908. on proof satisfactory to the Secretary of State that Mr. James S. Fearon. senior wartner of said firm. has been duly naturalized as a citizen of the nited States. and that no claim has been paid or allowed for the said losses and damages of the said firm in whole or part through the British Government or otherwise than hereinbefore stated.
