I was just now endeavoring to give my definition of the term. but I will give it again. with pleasure. I understand " contract labor " to be this: Where a man goes to a foreign country. finds a man lie desires to employ. makes a bargain with him that he shall come to this country to work for him or for any particular person he may designate. brings him here. and puts him to work for the purpose of discharging the obligation of that contract. That is what I understand by "contract labor." I draw a distinction as to that to which 1 can see a great many objections.
