The Chair will again read this resolution: That during the remainder of the present Congress. or until otherwise provided for by law. there shall be paid out of the contingent fund of the ]louse. for the services of a clerk to the Committee on Immigration and Naturalization. a sum equal to the rate of $2.000 per annum. payable monthly. Now. the effect of the resolution. if indorsed. would be to pay the clerk monthly at the rate of $2.000 per annum from the adoption of the resolution. from the contingent fund. until the 4th day of March next. It seems to the Chair that the resolution is privileged under the rules. It does not violate the privilege.
