They come from England. from Germany. from Ireland. from Canada. from Sweden. from Scotland. from Austria. from France. from Switzerland. and from Denmark. It is true a number of them come from other countries. but fourfifths of them come from the countries I have named. There is not a State in the Union today that would not be glad to receive into the bosom of its citizenship immigrants from the countries from which they have conic. The remaining 80 per cent of the people who live in this Territory and constitute its citizenship have come from the States or they are the descendants of those who have come from the Statesyour State. Senators. and my State.
