Session #54 · 1895–97

Speech #540101479

Here is a special order solemnly made on the 5th of June last. and yet I am told. and I believe it is the correct rule. that the unfinished business takes precedence and the special order falls. So. in view of all the circumstances. believing. as I firmly do. that I can move at any time I see proper when I can get the floor to take up this proposition. I simply give notice that at an early date. when opportunity presents. I shall move to proceed to the consideration of Senate joint resolution No. 6. That will enable the immigration bill to be disposed of at this time.
