Session #53 · 1893–95

Speech #530164054

I understand every line will be in conference as agreed upon now if the bill is amended as proposed by the committee. To that of course Ishould not think of offering any objection. I am most anxious to see any proper legislation for the restriction of immigration. no matter how trilling it may be in amount. I am anxious to expedite it and see it pased. I think the anachist clauses drawn by the Secretary of the Treasury are particularly valuable at this time. Therefore. so far as I am concerned. I propose to give my support to the bill as proposed by the Department.
