Who can point to any instance in which a person who has come here and declared his intention to support this Government and the flag which waves there [pointing to the flag back of the Speakers chair] has proved disloyal ? Disloyalty does not come from men who have had the enterprise and courage and grit to cross the Atlantic in order to help make this country what it is. I do not propose to be disloyal. and I know that none of my kith or kin. none of the people that I live with. will ever become disloyal. whether they have at the present time simply declared their intention or have been fully naturalized.
