I move a pro formna amendment. I have no doubt. Mr. Chairman. that the gentleman who now occupies the position of governor of Alaska is a very estimable person. and I believe. as the gentleman from Ohio has stated. that the Territory will in the future become very important. and immigration will undoubtedly be attracted there. particularly on the part of those who like cool summers. But Iwish to say that if this House is to raise the salary of the governor of Alaska. then I can not see how in justice to the gentleman occupying the position of governor of Arizona we can refuse to raise his salary.
