April 3. 1884. The Speaker of the House of Representatives. Washington: I am authorized to inform you that the Legislature of the State of California has passed the following Senate concurrent resolution. relative to the speedy passage of the Chinese restriction act now pending in Congress: Whereas thereare now pending in the Senate of the United States and in the House of Representatives certain measures which will tend to relieve the State of California from the continued immigration of Chinese: Resolved. That it is the sense of senate of the Legislature of California. the assembly concurring. that the Congress of the United States should. without unnecesay delay. pass the amended Chinese restrictioh bill now pending before that Be itfurther resolved. That the governor be requested to forward a copy of the foregoing resolutions to each of our Senators and Representatives in Congress.
