I would state that under article 3 of the treaty of 1866 the United States took from the Creek Nation the sum of $100.000 and paid the same to certain loyal refugees and others. and provided for a commission to ascertain and fix the amounts due the same piaties for losses during the rebellion. and the awards of the said com. mission. allowing $1.900.000. was returned to the Department and approved as an equitable claim against the United States. Here. then is disclosed another claim alleged to be due to these Creek Indians growing-
