The loyal portion of it left the itation and came up into Kansas. and they were there supported out of funds belonging to the Creek Nation. or soma part of it. Who can say that that was not a wise and just thing to do? The Governteist of the United States liad money due to the Creek Indians then ih revolt. and it used a portion of that money for the support oftiteloyal Creek refugees. That was a just and right application of the money. and when. in 1866. the Creek iNation and the United States catne together to make treaty stipulations. they recognized the validity ard propriety of this application of the money. The fact that eerttfiu stnts ofutoney. fiansing them. were applied out of the Creek funds for the support of the loyal refisges was set out in the treaty. and the United States was relegsed in express words from all obligttion to tile Creek Nation on that accout. Then the United States renowed its stipulations with the Creoek Indians. except as to this money that had already been applied tor the support of the loyal refugees. Well. Mr.
