Is that a sentiment. or will the gentlemat admit that that was a mere catchtrap I What I want to ask the gentleman is. was that put into the platform of the Republican party so as to catch the votes of the three Pacific States. or was it pat in with the intention to execute it and carry it out in good faith in the interest of the people of the whole country ?
