The Committee on Foreign Affairs. to whom was referred the.petition of John C. Landreau. a naturalized citizen of the United States. for the aid of the Government of the United States in the furtherane of his claim against the government of Peru. have directed me to submit a report. accompanied by a joint resolution. which I hope may be put on its passage now. It does not involve the expenditure of a single dollar. but simply grants in behalf of a citizen of the United States the good offices of the President and Secretary of State in the settlement of a claim against a foreign government. I hope there will be no objection to the passage of this joint resolution.
