I doubt notof the social condition of some of these Chinamen. but there are other social evils still more revolting upon which the genius of my friend from California could give us pictures even more shocking than those he has aheady drawn. N r is there a class of immigrants coming to us from any nationality among whom you cannot nd men in whom you may discover in person. in morals. in all the attributes almost that belong to humanity. as much to revolt us as that which belongs to the lower orders of the Chinese. I am not going to tire the patience of the Senate by a discussion of the labor question. I have very clear ideas about it.
