Speech #430045209

Stpleso ho would. Suppose I am entitled to be supported nt the pooriose whie I ur in Verinnt. and I do tot knw lot that I shall have to be. then if I emigrate to tie Indian Territory Vermont is under no obligation to nan as far as I know. nd the same maybe said in respect to these Indians. If thcy are entitled to $53.33 if they remain in North Carolina. theo they are not entitled to $53.33 oal that acecount if they ci oose to go somewhere else in the exercise of their right to better their condition by emigration. as other people do. I submit to the gentlemen of the Indian Committee that they are opening the door to extreme danger of fraud and falsehood. to say nothing of the fact that theseIldians themselves have a very shadowy right to this money at best.
