Session #115 · 2017–19

Speech #CREC-2017-02-06-pt3-PgS873-2_t14

While this should be self-evident given his record, in light of this past week's events, it is all the more critical we have an Attorney General willing to fight for our Constitution. Protecting our fundamental values as Americans is priceless. From Southern Oregon, Karen of Jackson County writes: I am strongly opposed to the nomination of Jeff Sessions as Attorney General. His support of President Trump's views regarding immigration and voting rights are unacceptable and make him unacceptable to be the Nation's chief law enforcer. Letter after letter expresses concerns about the record. Earlier tonight, my colleague from Massachusetts was sharing testimony Coretta Scott King presented on March 13, 1986, to the Senate Judiciary Committee when my colleague was nominated to the U.S.
