So I am not happy about it. colleagues. I dont see how we can operate around here if we cant rely on representations. Because of this bill. sanctuary cities will continue to get Federal funds. the Obama Administration can continue issuing visas to countries that refuse to repatriate their criminal aliens. and the Presidents Executive amnesty continues. Meanwhile. the tax bill that will be moved with the omnibus bill makes permanent the Additional Child Tax Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit. but it does nothing to block their future distribution to illegal aliens. A tax credit to a person who doesnt pay taxes is a check from the government. It is not a tax deduction. it is a direct payment. It scores as a welfare benefit. This means more illegal aliens will continue to get tax credits. It should be stopped. As I feared. the ultimate effectand I have expressed concern about this for some months nowis that this bill will fund the Presidents entire lawless immigration agenda. The only real bill we have to provide an opportunity to legislate and fix some of these things is a big omnibus bill. And what does it do?
