Mr. Speaker. I rise today in support of H.R. 158. the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015. This bill. which I cosponsored. will close a critical gap in our Nations security that is vulnerable to exploitation by terrorists and other nefarious actors seeking to do us harm. This bill strengthens the security of the Visa Waiver Program by requiring participating nations to increase counterterrorism information sharing. screen travelers against INTERPOLs databases. and enhance passport security features. As chair of the Committee on Homeland Securitys Foreign Fighter Task Force. I spent countless hours with my colleagues examining weaknesses in our Nations defenses against the threat posed by foreign fighters.
