Only 2 percent of our northern border is under operational control. To address this lack of information with regard to the state of northern border security. this legislation requires that an assessment be conducted to analyze a variety of issues facing the northern border. These include potential terrorist threats. potential improvements. gaps in law or policy. and illegal border activity. This analysis is intended to better inform any resources that are needed along the border to increase operational control and legislation that can result therefrom.
