Violent radical Islamists have targeted Middle Eastern Christians for extinction. killing them. forcing them from their homes. and burning their churches. Hundreds of thousands of Christians have been forced to flee. The United States needs to do what we can to save these Christian victims. as we have saved other refugees throughout our history Mr. Speaker. all of us who believe in religious freedom and tolerance need to stand up and state clearly that we wont sit quietly as a genocide takes place on our watch. I ask my colleagues to join me in cosponsoring a resolution that I have here in my hand. that resolution declaring Middle Eastern Christians as targets of genocide and giving them priority for immigration and refugee status. We have been silent already for too long. It is time for this body to make sure that our words are heard and our deeds are taken.
