Mr. Speaker. I rise today to honor Saint Bruno Catholic Church. an exemplary Catholic parish at 4751 South Harding on the southwest side of Chicago. which is celebrating its 90th anniversary. Founded on September 12. 1925. St. Brunos mission has remained the same: proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. caring for the poor. the sick. and the elderly. educating children in the faith. and celebrating the sacraments. The parish first carried out this mission as a place of worship for Polish immigrants. Father Alexis Gorski presided over the first Mass at St. Brunos. Today. Father Antoni Bury is pastor and the parish is home to a diverse population with Masses offered in English.
