Madam Chair. to the ranking member. I would love to have that discussion down the road about responsible immigration reform. and I think we need to have that. The American people expect it. They deserve it. and I look forward to having that. In the meantime. this is just a commonsense amendment that strictly puts the emphasis on following the rule of law. and I think all Americans. regardless of what side of the aisle. would stand supporting the Constitution. the very document that we all took an oath to.
