It expands proven antipoverty programs like the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit to create pathways out of poverty. And it increases funding for early childhood education. including the Presidents Early Childhood Education Initiative. so every toddler is prepared to start and succeed in school. Finallyit includes comprehensive Immigration reform. which House Republicans have allowed to languish for two years since the Senate passed bipartisan reformsso families can come out of shadows and have a shot at the American Dream. This budget says that every single Americannot just the wealthy fewdeserves a chance to succeed. I urge my colleagues to support this amendment.
