That is a commonsense rule that I think the vastin fact. I know from public polling and other meansthe vast majority of Americans of all stripes. of all walks of life. and of both parties support. Again. let me be clear. My amendment would say a child born in this country is a U.S. citizen if they are born in this country and at least one of the parents is a U.S. citizen or a valid green card holder or a member of the U.S. military. If there is any policy reason why that rule is unreasonable. I would love to hear it.
