I cant understand the wisdom of this strategy. I know some of my colleagues are upset with the President. I understand how much easier it is to take out your frustrations on the appropriations process. instead of through debate on an immigration policy bill. and we know we must have a serious debate on immigration policy. I support comprehensive immigration reform. but why should we would do this in such an inappropriate way through the appropriations process? Dont take out your frustrations on the appropriations process instead of a thorough debate on the immigration policy bill. I think the majority of my colleagues agree with me that this has gone on long enough. It is not rational to punish firefighters. EMTs. police officers. emergency managers you represent because of immigration policy. It is not rational to hamstring U.S. Customs and Border Protection or Immigration and Customs Enforcement because you are mad at the President. We are adults. I left my eight grandchildren home.
