It wasnt as if this was something the President just conceived. It had been considered and rejected. Congress acted decisively to oppose the Presidents legislation and to maintain in effect the current laws of the United States as codified in the Immigration and Nationality Act. President Obamas Executive action nullified the immigration laws we do have and replaced them with the very measures Congress and the American people have time and time again rejected. Not even King George III had the power to act without Parliament. President Obama himself described such an action as being something only an emperor could do.
