I want to urge my Republican colleagues to go ahead and pursue this potential judicial remedy to address the concerns they have. But while they are doing that. for Gods sake. lets bring a clean. fiscal year 2015 appropriations bill for the Department of Homeland Securitythe same bill that both Democrats and Republicans agreed to last Decemberlets bring it to the floor so we can give the Department the funding and the certainty that it desperately needs. Regardless of what happens in the courts. at the end of the day comprehensive immigration reform is the only way we can fix our broken immigration system for the long term. It is the only way we can address the issues the President was trying to resolve in his Executive action in a straightforward way. as we did in the last Congress when we passed by a big bipartisan vote right on this floorby a 2to1 margincomprehensive immigration reform. We owe the American people an honest and thorough debate on immigration reform. But lets do it the right way. We have shown that we can do that.
