It is a critical component of this continuing ability to have these people perform at a high level to have internal oversight. The importance of investigating misconduct among TSA employees cannot be overstated. Just last week. we learned of an investigation conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. otherwise known as ICE. that led to the indictment of a TSA employee on child pornography charges. In this recent and unfortunate example. it was ICE that performed the investigation. not TSA. We must ensure that TSAs internal cadre of investigators are spending the majority of time on criminal investigations or we risk wasting significant taxpayer resources. resources that could be used toward improving the integrity of TSAs workforce.
