If we dont debate the legality of the Presidents Executive orders when we are in the very process of authorizing money to the Department that is tasked with carrying out those very orders. then when exactly will we have that debate? The truth is now is the perfect time because it is the only time. It is the only time when we can do this. It is the only time for us to have a meaningful debate on the Presidents Executive action on immigration. At any other point our debate is more or less hypothetical. Now is the time. when we are exercising our constitutional power of the purse. that our debate has consequences. real consequences.
