At some point in our Nations life we need to be able to ascertain and speak with clarity: Congress has the power to write immigration laws. Congress rejected the Presidents request to provide this power. and Congress should not allow this to continue because it is unlawful and in fact violates the Constitution. Additionally. George Washington University Law School Professor Jonathan Turley. a nationally recognized constitutional scholar. who describes himself as a supporter of President Obama and his policies. testified before the House Judiciary Committee recently regarding the Presidents unilateral actions on immigration. He testified many times before Congress and frequently most usually. I believe. as a Democratic witness.
