Session #113 · 2013–15

Speech #1130122440

Mr. Speaker. it is with sadness that I rise today to honor the life of former Congressman John Krebs. John was a close friend and a mentor. As a young immigrant to the United States from Tel Aviv. John was able to live the American Dream and much more. He serves as an inspiration for all of those who knew him. John served in the United States House of Representatives from 1975 to 1979. One of his proudest legislative accomplishments was incorporating the Mineral King Valley into the Sequoia National Park. In 2009. President Obama recognized John for his efforts. and he signed legislation establishing the John Krebs Wilderness area which covers 40.000 acres within Mineral King Valley.
