The resolution before the House today extends our best wishes and congratulations to the people of Greece. whom we look to as our forebearers in democracy. I am proud to cosponsor this resolution. but I hope It is our first word on our friendship with Greece. and certainly not our last. I urge this House and this administration to strengthen our relationship with Greece by including them in the Visa Waiver Program. By designating Greece as such. we will send not only a message of friendship. but a message of thanks to the Greek community. which is so deserving of our friendship and our gratitude. They have met the criteria to become a visa waiver country and only await our approval on their application. On this anniversary. let us take concrete action to strengthen our bond with them and send a message of thanks to our friends in Greece. I reserve the balance of my time.
