It requires States to check the Social Security numbers against the registry before offering a drivers license. States that do not comply with this would lose 10 percent of their Federal transportation funds. and those funds would then not go back to the Federal Government but would be redistributed to the other States that are in compliance with the law. This is an issue that is vital to our national security. It is also an issue the Senate hasnt yet taken up. I believe issuing drivers licenses to illegal immigrants is an unacceptable and avoidable threat to our national security. We have a duty and the time is now to start this discussion. Mr.
