I want to at this point. Mr. Speaker. compliment my friend TOM TANCREDO for making immigration the issue of the day. When I first met him. I already knew him. I thought. because of the hours that he had spent on this floor speaking into this microphone. Mr. Speaker. about the importance of border control. about the importance of preserving our national sovereignty by controlling our borders and who comes in the United States and who does not. protecting the security of the American people from the terrorists from without. TOM TANCREDO has done that job to the extent where. In the debate the other night. they spent 30 minutes or more. all of the Presidential candidates. debating on who would be the toughest on immigration and who would be the most like TOM TANCREDO. I call that a victory for Tom
