We say were for personal responsibility. free markets and red tape. yet this bill would create dependency. bigger government and more bureaucracy. Finally. this bill substantially weakens the citizenship requirements to qualify for SCHIP. inviting fraud and abuse of this program by illegal aliens. The CBO projects that this fiscal disaster could cost the taxpayer around $3.7 billion in increased federal spending over the next 10 years. This bill also changes the period of time a state has to spend its SCHIP allotment from 3 years to 2 years.
