I thank the gentleman for yielding. Ten years ago. a Republican Congress created SCHIP to provide health Insurance benefits to children who are uninsured. who are Americans. and whose parents represent the working poor. Yet today. once again. this Democrat Congress will try to do something else. and that is. give these same benefits to adults. to illegal immigrants. to those who are already insured. and to some 53. Pt. 20 27575 of the wealthiest among us. These are the facts. Although the program was designed for those up to 200 percent of poverty. we know today there are families of up to $82.000 of Income receiving these benefits.
