The President has clearly taken the lead on this issue. This committee has strongly supported those initiatives. We also have made a very significant effort in the area of humanitarian aid dealing with migration and refugee assistance and with international disaster assistance. That is what these dollars are used for. When you go out and you meet folks. as all of us dothat is one of the fun parts of doing this job. representing our constituents and hearing from themsometimesactually. not that often in New Hampshire and I suspect not that often in Vermont. but sometimes you hear people say: What are we sending all this money overseas for?
