And so if we are ever to clean up our act. if were ever to compel private employers to no longer hire those who are illegally present in the United States. the least we can do is ensure that the employees of government are lawful employees. And so this amendment says that none of these funds that are authorized may be used to hire those people who are not legal to work in the United States. This would include illegal aliens. It would include nonwork Social Security numbers. and to give a broader definition of this. those that are here on student visas without authorization to work. those who are here on visitors visas. those kind of lawfully present as well as unlawfully present people are not authorized to work in the United States. These funds would be prohibited from being utilized for that purpose. This is a step down the path.
