Speaker. weve heard a lot of opinions today about the effects of this bill. and opinions are. of course. of different perspectives on the bill. But there is an agency that we all rely on. supposedly. to give us the facts. and that is the Congressional Budget Office. Now. there has been an argument about whether or not this bill. in its reforms. will go back to a system that would allow illegal immigrants to be covered. Now. we can say that it doesnt. but CBO says that. by changing that provision back to the way it used to be. that over the next 5 years it will cost $800 million and over the next 10 years it will cost $1.9 billion.
