The bill provides grants to such colleges to improve and expand their capacity to serve Native American students through such activities as curriculum development. academic instruction. faculty development. acquisition of education instruction. research equipment. and a variety of other activities. The higher education amendments also improve programs for students whose families are engaged in migrant and seasonal farm work to enter and succeed in college. This is very important. In addition. the bill authorizes funding for the Navajo Technical College to help pay the costs to operate postsecondary career and technical educational programs for Native American students.
