Its as if the State Department has completely forgotten who is responsible for the invasion of Cyprus in the first place. Mr. Speaker. the Annan Plan was unfair to the Cypriots in many ways. but the issues of property were the ones of most concern to many of the Cypriot Americans that I have talked to. Cypriot Americans are among the refugees that are being denied access to their property by Turkey. Since these Americans cannot return to their illegally seized property. I believe these Cypriot Americans should be allowed to seek financial remedies with either the current inhabitants of the land or the Turkish government itself.
