This is an issue that will change our way of life. This is an issue of vital importance to every American. and it will determine the future standard of living of our people and the safety of our country. We Americans came to this continent. by and large. as poor immigrants. millions of us. We faced the most undeveloped land imaginable. There was no land anywhere in the world at that time that was more undeveloped than the United States of America.
