Session #110 · 2007–09

Speech #1100067497

I walked through the wrong door. because that is not the case. certainly not the case for me in terms of this bill. It has been exactly the opposite from start to finish. Why do I say that? First. we are handed an 800page bill. given very little time to digest it. Then a few days later. in terms of this latest revisiting of immigration reform. we are handed a 373page megaamendment and given no time to digest it. Then some of us demanded the time to digest it by not agreeing to waive the reading of that 373page amendment. Only because we did that. we were finally given the right to look at the amendment overnight last night.
